30. Oct Access Solutions for 5 Drill Ships
MSS to deliver access solutions in composite to 5 drill ships that will operate in Brazil.
MSS has been awarded a contract by the company MHWirth for delivery of phenolic-based composite grating to be used in topside, subsea and drilling equipment packages aboard five drill ships being built for operations in Brazil. This comes in addition to further two drill ships where deliveries are mostly completed. Deliveries covered by this agreement will begin in November this year and will end in January 2017.
We see this as a great recognition of the products we supply and can hopefully be a catalyst for other solutions in the future, says Managing Director of MSS Kjetil Jacobsen. MSS has the last year expanded its product range in composite materials to include railings and small access platforms in the same fire retardant material. The potential for further weight savings and reduced maintenance costs are now even bigger in relation to future developments on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, adds Jacobsen.
