10. Sep MSS awarded Ivar Aasen contract
The contract is awarded by SMOE in Singapore.
The scope is to supply phenolic composite grating to the Ivar Aasen field development project, where Det norske is the operator of the field. The estimated volume of grating to be supplied is approx. 2500 m and the main delivery are set to October this year.
The use of phenolic composite grating provides many benefits and savings versus other materials such as steel and aluminum. For the estimated volume of grating to Ivar Aasen, the weight savings compared to steel grating is nearly 100 ton. Another significant advantage of this product is the considerably easier offshore installation method, compared to other materials, as ordinary hand tools can be used to cut and adjust the grating offshore, states Managing Director Kjetil Jacobsen.
