FRP Harbor Bridges

Salt, diesel oil, chemicals and stray currents due to static electricity. A harbor bridge (or walkway) suffers quite a bit. As a result, they usually require a lot of maintenance.

Do you want a harbor bridge that requires virtually no maintenance? Then opt for the slim FRP harbor bridge from FiberCore Europe. We place them worldwide. In the Rotterdam port area and on the Maasvlakte alone, we have already installed more than 70.

Lightweight and yet extremely strong

The FiberCore Harbor bridge is extremely strong. A special construction of glass fibers and thermosetting resin ensures that our bridges are stronger than steel. FiberCore bridges are nevertheless very light. Of course our bridges meet the design requirements of the CUR 96 and Eurocodes.

Standard or customer specific

We deliver the bridge as standard with traditional open railings and open slatted floors with anti-slip. Also possible: closed sides and a closed, liquid-tight floor. This makes the bridges very suitable as a pipe bridge or escape bridge for the industry.

The bridge has a width of 1.5 meters and a span of more than 36 meters in one piece. This saves on intermediate support points. We make the bridge customer-specific in every length. With integrated cable ducts, LED lighting, power boxes and motion sensors and an integrated gate.

Fast installation, static or hinged

We produce the FiberCore Havenbrug in our factory in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). Thanks to the low net weight, we easily transport the prefab bridge to the port, where we can quickly place the bridge. We can hinge the bridge between a fixed support point and a floating pontoon, using a pivot point and a sliding pole. This thanks to the low net weight.

Practically maintenance-free

A FiberCore Harbor bridge is practically maintenance-free. The bridge construction is resistant to, among other things, corrosion, salt, UV, bird droppings, diesel oil and chemical substances. Extreme temperatures also have no influence on the construction. That is thanks to the material used. Our FRP bridges are resistant to just about anything. They are even resistant to vandalism. Graffiti is easy to remove, just like fire traces. We deliver the FiberCore Harbor Bridge as standard in fire class D (Fire Decree). And if desired in higher classes, such as fire class B – S2, d0 (ISO 13501-1: 2007).

Lifespan of more than 100 years

The FiberCore Harbor bridge lasts a long time: more than 100 years. Without fatigue or corrosion occurring. The bridge therefore retains its functionality. This is also because the bridge is a completely homogeneous construction, without vulnerable and maintenance-sensitive bolt and glue connections.

Sustainable and circular

FRP is the material for the future. Our bridges are made with the InfraCore® Inside technology. This ensures an extremely long lifespan of more than 100 years. Thanks to the smart prefab construction and the light weight, the bridge can easily be replaced. More about sustainability
